Get a subsidy from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency for a weighted vest at work
You may need a weighted vest at work for one of the following reasons:
- disability
- illness
- diagnosis, such as ADHD, autism, etc.
Your employer may also receive a grant from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency to purchase the assistive devices you need for work. You may also receive a grant to cover an expert assessment to determine which assistive devices you need for your work.
Who is eligible for a grant for assistive devices?
You or your employer may be eligible for a grant for assistive devices if you
- needs the assistive device because of an illness or disability
- have been employed by your employer for more than 12 months, or have run your own business for 12 months
- have not yet turned 69
- is insured in Sweden.

If you have been employed by your current employer for less than 12 months, you may be eligible for a grant from the Swedish Public Employment Service. This also applies to you if you have run your own business for less than 12 months.

How much financial assistance can I receive for assistive devices?
You can normally receive a maximum of 50,000 kronor in grants for assistive devices. If there are exceptional circumstances, you may receive more—for example, if you need the assistive device to be able to keep your job. For computer-based assistive devices, you may receive a higher amount.
If your employer submits the application, they may receive a grant covering half the cost, up to a maximum of 50,000 kronor. If there are exceptional circumstances, they may receive more. Regardless of the cost, the employer must always pay 10,000 kronor toward the assistive device.
