To maintain optimal hygiene and a clean sleeping environment, bedding—including comforters and pillows—needs to be washed regularly. We usually recommend washing your weighted comforter at least once a year.
A common problem with weighted blankets is that they can’t be washed in a washing machine. Even if the blanket itself could handle it, it’s not possible because most washing machines have a maximum capacity of 6–8 kg.
Thanks to their innovative design and high quality, you can machine-wash all Novista weighted blankets, regardless of weight. Our blankets are designed to be separated with a zipper, which means that even the heaviest ones can be washed in your home washing machine. If your washing machine can handle both parts of the blanket at the same time, that’s fine, of course; otherwise, wash one part at a time. All blankets can be washed at 60 degrees, but for the sake of the environment, you may want to lower the temperature.

As the only weighted blanket on the market, our soft weighted blankets are of such high quality that they can easily be washed and tumble-dried at home—regardless of the blanket’s weight. This means you’ll never have to worry about sleeping without your blanket!

The area north of Porto in Portugal is home to one of the world’s most prominent textile industries. Here we make all our products using knowledge and skills built up over centuries in the local textile industry.
Portugal’s textile history dates back to the mid-16th century and is one of the oldest in Europe. The preservation of tradition, solid craftsmanship and professional pride, as well as curiosity about new innovations, allow us to maintain high quality in our production – some of which is handmade.
We have a strong relationship with our manufacturers and can verify that production meets the quality, environmental and labor standards we are committed to.
As a company, we want to take responsibility for the products we manufacture. Our products are high-quality and have a long lifespan. We don’t follow trends; instead, we focus on timeless cuts and shapes that will stand the test of time.
We only produce as many products as we need and we aim to maximize the use of each Novista product over its lifetime. Our production is in the EU and the logistics chain is efficient to keep our footprint as small as possible.
Through a partner, we reuse and recycle as much of our products as possible. Some products are refurbished and donated. Products that cannot be reused are recycled and turned into medical supplies.
