Novista and the Swedish Sports Confederation will collaborate in the field of elite sports with the goal of optimizing sleep and recovery for Swedish elite athletes. Novista will thus become the exclusive provider of weighted blankets and sleep expertise to all active athletes on Swedish national teams.
The Swedish Sports Confederation (RF) is the umbrella organization for the sports movement, tasked with supporting, representing, leading, and coordinating the sports movement on common issues, both nationally and internationally. The RF has 19 districts and 71 member federations, which together comprise approximately 19,000 sports clubs. In total, the sports movement has approximately 3.3 million members.
What does this collaboration entail?
Novista will regularly provide weighted blankets and share its expertise on sleep and recovery with all active athletes on the Swedish national teams, as well as recipients of Svenska Spel’s Elite Sports Scholarship.
Why do we collaborate?
Our partnership is based on a shared belief that there is great potential for development in the field of recovery and sleep.
Simply put, sleep is recovery. The better the sleep, the more effective the recovery. There is also research showing that better sleep leads to better athletic performance, and it is well known that recovery is just as important as training and proper nutrition.
However, despite this, relatively little is being done to actively promote better sleep among elite athletes.
Recovery and good sleep are, of course, vital for everyone, whether you exercise or not, but for athletes competing at the highest Swedish or international level, they offer a significant competitive advantage. Effective recovery allows you to train more and harder, thereby increasing your peak performance in competition.
